If you had ever looked at pictures of rosacea patients, then you will see why there are many products on the market that will help people in this situation have a more natural look. Rosacea is an extremely common skin ailment among middle aged men and women and can cause redness, burning, itching, dryness, and even red pustules all over the face. It is not the same as acne so rosacea is never treated quite the same way as an acne breakout. If you suffer from rosacea, then you may want to find cosmetic help to cover up the redness. Here are some tips that will help you move your best, even when you suffer from rosacea breakouts.

Avoid cheap cosmetics: You may be very tempted to buy cheap cosmetics. However, you should remember that cosmetics are cheap for a reason. They often contain products and ingredients that will make your flareups even worse. Inexpensive makeups can dry out your face and leave it red, itching and irritated. Avoid any cosmetic that contains talc, too. This is a common ingredient in less expensive makeup. You should also avoid cosmetics that contain fragrance as this can exacerbate your rosacea flare-ups.

Buy hypoallergenic makeup: Read the ingredients of any makeup before you make a purchase. Look for mineral makeup or makeup that is marked hypoallergenic. These types of makeups will certainly do more for your skin than inexpensive products. If you are unsure of what type of makeup is best for your rosacea, then talk to your dermatologist or visit a department store with a good makeup counter where you can get advice on the best types of makeup to wear for your condition.

Try cover up: Many makeup manufacturers offers cover up sticks and foundations that will help cover the redness caused by rosacea. Remember, the yellow and green tinted makeups are especially made to cover up red skin. This is the best thing that you can use to reduce the redness on your face when you suffer from rosacea. You may even be surprised at the difference that these tinted makeups can make.

Use good lotions to combat dryness: When you suffer from rosacea, you will find that your skin is more dry the normal. Because of this, you will want to avoid any type of facial product that will dry out your face such as alcohol-based astringent. You need to find a good lotion to help combat your dryness on your face. Again look for hypoallergenic or fragrance free lotions and creams that can help you moisturize your face and will help heal the flare ups.

Always use sunscreen: Everyone should get in the habit of using a daily SPF protection cream or sunscreen on his or her face everyday. But this is especially true when you suffer from rosacea. The sun will irritate and try out your skin faster than anything else while you cannot always avoid the exposure from the sun. You can do something about it by wearing sunscreen each and every day. If you find that some sunscreen irritates your skin look for natural sunscreen or sunscreen that does not contain fragrance.
